It has been a very long 18-month period since the beginning of our South African lockdown, where incentive travel trips were immediately postponed or cancelled due to the global pandemic.
Many of the Uwin Iwin clients have postponed and moved trips more than once during this time. Some companies compensated winners using our host of other reward options and kept motivation programs and the communication elements of programs active.
Businesses that did that unquestionably have gotten very positive feedback from participants and have managed to keep relationships strong, people engaged and motivated through very tough times.
New Incentive Trips
This past week we implemented the very first large group incentive travel program for one of our valued customers. Creating a unique local program using Rovos Rail and Sabi Sabi to deliver a sensational reward experience for winners. The combination of these two luxury experience components produced an experience that many South Africans would not have had in their lifetime. Every element is personalized with branded gifting, communications, and travel accessories.
Guest comments like “I have been made to feel like a Queen in my own country” and “I was overwhelmed by the attention to detail from the first moment of the day to the last when I closed my eyes satisfied and dreaming of what awaits tomorrow” were heard often.
Requirements
The new travel norms of a pre-trip Covid PCR test, vaccinations, sanitization stations everywhere, lodging special protocols, dinner and venue protocol detailed observations all came with the package to ensure guest and staffing safety throughout the program.
Conclusion
It was good to be back and this particular Incentive Travel Trip made use of some of the most epic conservation and biodiverse locations our planet has to offer, supporting efforts for a greener world. Throughout the program, meticulous planning to reduce waste, our carbon footprint, and the reduction in the use of plastics were observed.
Sabi Sabi over the years also supports local schools, and preschools in disadvantaged communities making a meaningful contribution to these important social projects.
It’s great that travel is getting back on the agenda and in a way that helps uplift our economy and people, in a green and sustainable way.
